What's going on in Hackney this summer?
We're a local business and our heart will always be in East London - as a letting agent in Hackney we're always interested in what's going on around us. And summer is a fantastic time to be in this part of London. Whether you already live here and you're looking for events to fill up your diary, or you're considering a move, Hackney in summer 2019 is the place to be.
Broadway Market (Saturdays)
If you haven't yet visited one of London's best markets then we'd highly recommend that you make time for it this summer. Broadway market is the best way to spend a Saturday morning in East London in our humble opinion - especially if you're a secret foodie (the Philly 'cheezesteak' from Jake's Vegan Steaks is a must try).
All Points East (24th May - 2nd June)
This festival launched in 2018 and is back for a second year in Victoria Park. The two opening and closing weekends feature headliners such as Christine and the Queens, The Chemical Brothers, Bon Iver and Bring Me the Horizon. In between those dates Victoria Park is playing host to a huge range of free activities, from cinema through to street food and comedy gigs.

Grow Future Fair (8th June)
For those with an interest in more environmentally and socially conscious ethics, the Grow Future Fair sells only items that are reused, recycled, upcycled or zero waste. Expect lots of exciting products, an emphasis on wellness, and an afternoon of canal side music in Hackney Wick.

Big Fish Little Fish family rave (9th June)
East London is renowned for its dance parties but Big Fish Little Fish offer something a bit different - a rave that all the family can attend. A bubble filled dance floor, live DJs and plenty of crafts and face painting will make this a day for all the family to remember.
The London Fields Lido (daily)
If we get the scorcher of a summer that we're promised this year then the London Fields Lido is going to be the place to cool off at. Refurbished in 2017, this swimming spot is a great place to exercise or just hang out and people watch after a refreshing dip.

Hackney Flea market (6th - 7th July)
Head to Abney Hall at 73a Church Street over the weekend of 6th July if you're a keen bargain hunter or looking for some unique vintage pieces. Hackney is renowned for its great finds - this is one of London's best fleas.

Visions festival (3rd August)
This one-day event takes place over six venues in Hackney, including Oval Space and the Sebright Arms. The line up for 2019 includes music from White Denim and Anna Meredith.
Hackney Carnival (9th September)
As the summer comes to an end Hackney celebrates with the annual carnival event featuring 1,000+ performers and plenty of food and dancing. You can get involved with the carnival itself via projects like Hackney Carnival Collective! Or just sit back and enjoy the on-the-day vibes.
Storeys is a letting agent in Hackney and we're proud of the area that we work in. These are just a few of the ways that you can get to know Hackney in summer 2019.
