What is Containerville?
What is Containerville?
Storeys is a letting agent and estate agent in Hackney and covering areas including Shoreditch and Islington. We pride ourselves on being forward thinking and agile as a business and we also appreciate great design. That's why Containerville has been a natural home for our business as well as a community that continues to thrive. If you haven't yet come across Containerville then here's our take on what this exciting upcycled office space has to offer any business looking for somewhere inspiring to be.
A home for start-ups and innovators
Containerville gets its name from its unique construction - instead of regular bricks and mortar buildings the offices here are upcycled shipping containers. There are now two Containerville E2 locations - Corbridge Crescent, beside Regent's Canal and Emma Street, just behind Hackney Road. The first location was Corbridge Crescent, which started out with 30 workspaces and has now been expanded to 78. It also has outdoor benches and chairs and plenty of space for collaboration and creativity to thrive. As a result it has become home to a whole range of businesses, including brand designers, gift makers and film producers. The second location on Emma Street opened in 2019 and has 170 single and double sized workspaces with plans to expand this in the very near future.
More than just office space
One of the reasons we enjoy being based in Containerville is because we're part of a community of like-minded people even though most of us come from different industries. The brains behind Containerville are continuously looking for opportunities to do more with the space available and there are plans to create a covered events space at Emma Street, for example, as well as somewhere for street food vendors to base their stalls.
An upcycled statement of intent
We also love the sustainable design ethos of Containerville, which has been constructed from upcycled shipping containers that would otherwise have gone to waste. This not only helps to reduce the waste and cost that would be involved in regular construction but minimises disruption to the local area too. This much more socially responsible approach is one that we really love. Plus, there is no compromise required when it comes to experience either. These modern spaces suit us down to the ground with their clean, minimal aesthetic and inspiring construction. From double glazing to central heating and Wi-Fi you've got all the essentials covered and the site is accessible to tenants 24/7. Perhaps one of the best features of Containerville is that it's a totally blank canvas. Each shipping container can be adapted to the business within whether that's a barber or an office.
As East London letting agents we recognise when a local project is really worth shouting about. Containerville is innovative and exciting, somewhere that small businesses and start-ups can really thrive - we love it so much we even moved in.
